Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua fired at Azimio leader Raila Odinga during his Saturday, 18th March 2023, homecoming in Kirinyaga County.

DP Rigathi took a swipe at Raila ahead of his much hyoed anti-government demonstrations scheduled to take place in Nairobi on Monday 20th.
The DP asked Raila how he is convinced he won the August 2022 general election, and went ahead to allege votes Raila got from Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his running mate Martha Karua in the Mt Kenya region.
The Second in Command asked Raila how he is convinced he won if Uhuru only gave him 51 votes and Karua less than 30 votes in her polling station.
"How did Raila win if Uhuru only gave him only 51 votes and the running mate Martha Karua less than 30 votes?" DP Gachagua said.
Raila's planned demos are meant to push the government led by President William Ruto to resign, on grounds that they rigged the 2022 election from him.
