A primary school teacher from Remote Samburu East has been severely injured after he was beaten by his parents. The young gentleman, Mr. Lekanapal suffered deep cuts on his scalp and hands from machetes that the assailants used.
It is suspected that teacher had issues with a pupil who had been sent home to come with the parent.
During the fight also one of the parents was accidentally hit by the other, resulting in a deep cut. Sources indicate that teachers of that school are now camping at the dispensary in fear of getting attacked.
This has led to different reactions amongst many Kenyans. Here are some of them.
Janet Augusta. These are some of the things that forced me to down my tools for good, I almost lost my life in the North-Eastern part of Kenya. Teachers are indeed suffering.
Nickson Kameron. So sad. Quick recovery. We urge the government to give teachers security.
In my view, it will be good if all the teacher's fraternity moves in speed to stop this kind of behavior.
