Recently, IG Hillary Mutyambai made a press statement following the just concluded by-elections in Juja, Rurii and Bonchari. In his statement he said that the National Police Service wishes to thank the people of Bonchari and Juja constituencies as well as Rurii Ward in Nyandarua for the collaboration and adherence to the law and order which by large led to peaceful by-elections in their justifications yesterday.
He also said that he wishes to thank all the stakeholders including IEBC officials, the media, party officials and other election observers with whom we worked in a harmonious and progressive manner. He also said that he wishes to assure Kenyans that the minor cases reported to police will be dealt with appropriately and any found culpable presented before the courts.
Mutyambai also said that he wishes to condemn the police officers for carrying out their mandate of maintaining law and order with utmost restraint and dignity to ensure that their lives and livelihoods were safeguarded in the sobsaid areas. He ended his remarks to say that he together with the police will remain committed to staying true to their motto of "Utumishi Kwa Wore"
