Thomas Tuchel Promotes Wonderkid To The First Team Who Won Premier League 2 Dec Player Of the Month

The FA Cup competitions will continue this Thursday as Thomas Tuchel lead his Chelsea side in facing Championship side Barnsley FC. The winner of the tie will automatically qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition and join Manchester United, Everton, and Manchester City.

Chelsea is expected to make several changes in their squad that will face Barnsley today. Former Chelsea number one goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to start with a lot of first-team players expected to be rested.

According to Express Sport, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has promoted another youngster to the first team who has impressed with the under 23s side. Lewis Bate will have an opportunity to play this evening though he will not be able to start.

Lewis Bate who is an 18-year-old midfielder picked up a Premier League two player of the month award for December and is expected to play alongside the likes of Tino Arjorin and Billy Gilmour.

Thomas Tuchel also welcomed 2018 World Cup winner Ngolo Kante back to the squad after being sidelined with a knee injury. Since taking over from Frank Lampard Tuchel has not lost any game and will be seeking to extend his winning streak this Thursday.
