Vocal Central Kenya based politician has explained the only problem they have with President Uhuru Kenyatta who is considered as the region's spokesperson. This is in matters to do with succession politics which has been termed as a two horse race between Raila versus DP Ruto

According to Chinga MCA Kiruga Thuku, the only problem majority of Central Kenya politicians have with President Uhuru is the move by Uhuru to endorse Raila Odinga as his preferred successor. Thuku has noted that they will not follow this directive by the President since they want first to pay the debt of Deputy President William Ruto by supporting his presidential bid come the 2022 general elections
