Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Raila Odinga, has told the persons living with disabilities in Kenya that he is the one who introduced the construction of ramps, to help the disabled people to be able to climb storey buildings as well as foot bridges or flyovers in their day to day duties.
Speaking during a meeting with persons living with disabilities in Nyayo stadium in Nairobi today, Raila while wooing the persons living with disabilities to elect him as the fifth president on August 9 polls he said that he is the one who introduced construction of ramps in storey buildings especially, to help the disabled people to climb the buildings during their daily activities while he was serving as minister for roads in Kibaki's government.
"I am somebody who cares a lot about the people living with disabilities, I can assure you you will have a stake in my government. I have been defending you people through out I don't discriminate anybody even when I was serving as the Minister for roads, I gave out an order for construction of ramps in buildings to be used by our people who are physically challenged. Those ramps which you see nowdays in almost every building you go I am the one who introduced them..." He said.
