Rift Valley Region Commissioner, George Natembeya addressed the residents of Nakuru today, 19th March, and Declared that Area Chiefs will be Masters of Ceremony in all burial events.
According to his report the chiefs will be the ones to call on the family members of the deceased to read the eulogy and then call on the pastor to lead in prayer after which the actual burial will be done.
The Commissioner gave the directive in attempts to help contain the new wave of Covid 19, with cases of the virus drastically on the rise each and every day.
He also issued a warning to those flouting the set Covid 19 protocols such as closure of business and bars by 10pm according to the nation wide curfew rules.

He was also against the Political rallies and meetings that were held in the name of acquired signed permits from police and stated that a multi agency task force has been employed to ensure compliance to all the set measures.
