This has shocked many mostly those students who are going to join universities by the start of September this month as the government has Announced a big number that will not benefit from its sponsorship. The government of Kenya had announced that 30,088 students out of 70,088 total students will not be among those who are the beneficiaries of the government's sponsorship. This has lowered the morale of university students as the government had declared that they will not sponsor a big number as it has not been encountered before.
Those new students who will be joining universities across the country they will be needed to pay a total school fees of Sh 48,000 per semester as set by some Vice Chancellors from different universities as different courses are offered in different universities. Universities used to pay a total of Sh 16,000 per semester and now students have encountered a rapid growth in university school fee discouraging many.
