Horror As Traffic Police Officer Dies Tragically After Motorist Ran Him Over

In Mombasa, a police officer was killed on Monday evening in a terrible accident caused by a motorist. The accident occurred when the driver trapped the officer' s hand and drove off with his body hanging. Sadly, the officer was later run over by the same car' s rear wheel and died instantly. The officer was manning Buxton Junction in Mombasa when the incident happened.

The officer and his colleagues had flagged down a car for a routine traffic inspection. The driver was asked to turn off the engine to allow the officers to check his vehicle. However, the driver declined to comply with the request and refused to switch off the engine. Consequently, the officer attempted to open the driver' s door to turn off the ignition key.

According to the police who were present at the scene, the driver allegedly grabbed the officer' s hand and then drove off with the officer hanging outside the car. The officer held on to the car as the driver sped away before eventually falling onto the tarmac. Tragically, the car' s rear right wheel ran over the officer' s head, causing fatal injuries. The driver of the vehicle immediately fled the scene, but the police were able to track and arrest him.

Coast regional police boss, Titus Karuri, stated that they are investigating the motive behind the incident. The police are keen to establish whether the driver acted intentionally or if it was just a terrible accident. Regardless of the motive, the officer' s family and colleagues are left grieving for a life cut short. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers that law enforcement officers face every day.
