Vice President William Ruto yesterday ruled out a coalition with other parties, saying anyone who wants to work with him should fold their clothes and join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Speaking in Kinango, County Kwale, at the launch of the Duruma Bible, Ruto said the coalition talks were a plot by party leaders to secure positions before the election.
“These mini parties are the vehicle used by their leaders to negotiate positions. Ethnic politics benefits only a few leaders with positions and privileges,” said Ruto. The DP said he has formed a national political party to bring all Kenyans together, regardless of their ethnicity or social status. He ruled out joining a coalition with what he called "ethnic parties".
“Verse 3 of Psalm 133 says that where there is unity, God gives blessings. I have formed a national party that we must all join so that we may have blessings of prosperity and unity,” he said. “Verse 3 of Psalm 133 says that where there is unity, God gives blessings.
