The ministry of energy and petroleum last week hiked the price of kerosene, diesel and petroleum a move the ignited mixed reactions from Kenyans during this hard time when the country is fighting against the deadly virus called Covid-19.

The principal secretary (PS) of energy and petroleum Mr. Andrew Kamau has today Wednesday appeared before the National Assembly's committee on finance and national planning to explain why the government of Kenya that is under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta raised the prices of diesel, kerosene and petroleum.

Responding to the committee members, the PS revealed that the ministry had to introduce high cost on kerosene to make it expensive because some traders were buying it at a low price and add some diesel and thereafter sell the fuel to motorists.
