Pundit Weighs on the Secret Agenda Gachagua Wants to Achieve By Opposing Sakaja's City Plans

Even as Nairobi City County Governor Johnson Sakaja insists that the exchange of words between him and the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is not something big as painted by stakeholders, pundits have opined that there's a secret plan/ agenda that Gachagua wants to achieve by appearing to oppose city plans.

Speaking to the Nation Africa, governance expert and political commentator Javas Bigambo opined that the issue is all about preparation for the 2027 big tussle.

According to Bigambo, Gachagua's move to oppose Sakaja is a part of a scheme to demonstrate that he has the interests of business moguls from the region at heart.

It should be remembered that the opposition has a big political share in Nairobi. Opposing Sakaja is a cleaver move to even win over those who backed the Kenyatta - Odinga alliance last year.

Since opposing Sakaja will some how increase his popularity among the business fraternity, Bigambo weighs that Gachagua wants to use that popularity to maintain his position in the Ruto administration in 2027. Popularity will mean that Ruto will have no option but to pick him again as running mate in 2027.
