The presidential hopeful remarks came shortly after attending a service at All Saints church in Kirinyaga County.
The DP Ruto while taking to his official Facebook page said by joining hands together, it will diminish constraints to achieving the country's development goals.
"Leaders must join hands and foster peaceful coexistence among Kenyans to diminish constraints to achieving our country’s development goals. We must endeavour to lead by example, and talk boldly about the ills of hate, division and ethnicity in the society. That way, we will have a more united and transformed Kenya," the deputy President William Ruto posted.
The second in command was hosted by Kirinyaga County boss Governor Ann Waiguru (Kirinyaga), MPs Robert Gichimu (Gichugu), Wangui Ngirici (Kirinyaga Woman Rep.), George Kariuki (Ndia), Alice Wahome (Kandara), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Kimani Ichungwah (Kikuyu), Gathoni Wamuchomba (Kiambu Women Rep.), Cate Waruguru (Laikipia Women Rep.) Wilson Sossion (Nominated), others were former MP Njogu Barua (Gichugu), Ferdinand Waititu (former Kiambu Governor), Daniel Karaba (Former Kirinyaga Sen.) and Norman Nyaga (Former Kamukunji MP).
While addressing the roadside gathering, DP Ruto welcome the greetings from Kirinyaga residents, Kutus and Kerugoya towns.
"Acknowledged greetings from residents of Kianyaga, Kutus and Kerugoya towns after a church service at the New Anglican Church of Kenya, Diocese of Kirinyaga — All Saints Church in Kianyaga, Gichugu Constituency, Kirinyaga County," he added.
Today's visit by DP Ruto was the first one since Governor Anne Waiguru ditched the ruling Jubilee Party to join the DP Ruto's United Democratic Alliance.
