"We Were Both Drunk" Woman Blames on Alcohol as She Confesses to Killing Her Husband

A woman identified as Elizabeth Wawira from Embu has blamed on alcohol while confessing to killing her husband.

The lady told the Court that indeed she is the one who murdered her husband, Ngari Mbaka, at their village home on the fateful day of July 18, 2021.

She however defended herself claiming that they were both drunk at the time of incidence and killing wasn't intentional.

According to her, Mbaka came home drunk that day around 9.30pm with tomatoes and meat for dinner. An altercation broke and she grabbed a knife and stabbed him on the abdomen.

Mbaka fell on the floor before his brother came to his rescue. He rushed him to the hospital where he succumbed two days after admission.

A postmortem was conducted on Mbaka's body and the results revealed that he died from abdominal injuries.

Elizabeth's lawyer requested the court to he lenient on its judgement claiming she is the only bread winner to her two children aged 17 and 10 years respectively.

The lady also sought Court's mercy adding that she changed her mind, as she had previously pleaded not guilty, after having a consultation with the prosecutor. She asked the judge to consider her while delivering the sentence insisting the killing wasn't intentional.
