A list has been published by the Interior Cabinet secretary Dr.Fred Matiang'i.
He said," in the light of the abuse of curfew passes and exemptions and its role in the steep increase in infections,The ministry of Interior and Co- ordination of National Government jointly with the Ministry of Health are directed to immediately review the protocols for issuance of curfew passes and exemptions"
The published list contains the personnel who are will not be affected by revised curfew hours which were instituted on Friday March 26 2021 by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
They are classified as essential service provider and according to the Gazette notice the list includes,Kenya Airways PLC, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, Licensed Civil Aviation service providers,Kenya Airport Authority,Kenya Revenue Authority, Healthy Workers and Medical Professional, Nation Security, Administration and Coordination of National Government Officers, Licensed Pharmaceuticals companies,licenced broadcasters and media houses.
Kenya Railway corporation,Kenya port authority, licenced port operators, power production and distribution companies,Kenya pipeline company ,water service providers,
In Agriculture and Manufacturing sector the following are exempted,
Farm producers, distributors,dealers, wholesalers and transporters, licensed supermarket,minimarkets and hypermarkets.Licensed distributors and retailers of petroleum and oil products,oil products and lubricants, Licenced telecommunications operators and service providers,Licenced financial institutions,fire brigade and emergency response services.Licensed security firms.
