A section of Nairobi residents have ganged up against Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, alleging that he is misusing his power to suppress powerless citizens instead of helping the residents of Nairobi.
In a video that is now doing rounds in social media platforms, one of the residents identified as Bishop who aired the voices of the angry residents, said that Sakaja was one of the leaders who used to lament and to castigate the previous government over the misuse of power but has now changed and is doing just what he used to complain about.
"Ata wewe Sakaja umekuwa ukisema the previous government walikuwa wanatumia Malala vibaya. Wakenya sio wajinga na husitubebe ufala... Leo umeanza kukandamiza Hadi wananchi wanyonge (Even you Sakaja used to say that the previous government was misusing the power. Kenyans are not stupid and don't take us for a ride... You have now started suppressing even the poor citizens)," he claimed.
Bishop said that they are now tired and will not keep quiet anymore. He claimed that the prices of foodstuffs have gone up and the government should work on how to revive the economy instead of turning their forces on the common mwananchi.
"Bei ya vitu vimeenda juu... Ata chumvi amabayo ilikuwa Bei ya chini saa hii wamama wanashindwa kununua. Sisi Tumechoka na hatuwezikunyamaza (The prices of goods have gone up... Our women can not afford even the salt that used to be the cheapest. We are tired and will not keep quiet)," he said.
The group demanded that the government should organize a meeting with them at their base in Jacaranda, Embakasi East constituency so that they can air out their concerns.
"We demand that you come down here and listen to us. Kuja hapa Jacaranda grounds na hii serikali iache kusumbua watu (Come here at Jacaranda grounds and let this government stop disturbing people)," Bishop said.
