The Kenya Revenue Authority has been the subject of Kenyans misery throughout the year since the onset of the Covid pandemic whereby it has been implementing news taxes that are not favorable to Mwananchi.
"Kenyan court suspends implementation of minimum tax on revenues. The Kenyan High Court sitting in Machakos issued an order suspending the implementation of Kenya's new minimum tax on business gross revenues on April 19 – the day before the first installment of the tax was due." This was in May this year when the court barred the implementation.
Kenyans will now have a reason to smile as the entire tax has been ruled unconstitutional by the High Court and has been stopped with immediate effect.
Kenyans will have cause to celebrate as this is a step in the right direction from the courts with regards to how difficulty life has been since the price of fuel started going up.
