As we approach 2022, those interested in president position have already revealed it to the people of Kenya. Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to retire from politics come 2022. Kenyans will have a responsibility to go to the ballot and choose who will lead them in the next 5 years. Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, KANU leader Gedion moi and Deputy President William ruto are among the persons who have already declared their interest in the seat.
ODM was the only political party that was not yet announced their candidate. Yesterday, the party officials held a meeting and they came up with the list of candidates interested in the presidential seat on the ODM ticket. Earlier this year, they had announced on public that they were ready to welcome any person willing to contest for the presidential seat on ODM party ticket.
According to the source, Mombasa governor Ali Hassan joho, Kakamenga governor Wycliffe oparanya and ODM party leader Raila odinga are interested in the top seat on ODM party ticket. According to the political parties constitution, when such a situation happen, the party holds an election for the purpose of remaining with one person to represent the party in the competition.
