Politics in the Mountains takes new directions hours after former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga has suffered a major loss ahead of the presidential elections in 2022. According to Sabina Chege's recent reports, Raila has not been endorsed as Mount Kenya's chosen presidential candidate.
After appearing to be making significant progress in his efforts to woo the Mt Kenya region, ODM leader Raila Odinga has been informed that he does not yet have the region's support.
He toured parts of the region earlier this week and received a warm welcome, after which he met members of the Mt Kenya Foundation, who informed him that he had been picked as their candidate for 2022.
Well, Kirinyaga deputy Governor,Peter Ndambiri has set the record straight. According to the deputy Governor, president Uhuru kenyatta is still the undisputed Mount kenya leader. It should be known to all and sundry who are looking for voted that they should consider the president as gate pass to the region.
It has been rumored that orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Amolo Odinga is leaning on Uhuru's support to win over flamboyant leaders in the regions.
The deputy Governor's claims now come hand in hand with what is currently happening with Uhuru while in Kibra almost endorsed Raila as his successor.
This is a huge setback for the chief Hustler Dr William Ruto if could be that whoever needs votes should rely on Uhuru's support. Now that president Uhuru kenyatta and his deputy president Dr William Ruto have a distorted relationship,reaching out to the mountains would be very difficult.
