Nyandarua County Assembly is urging the County Executive through the Department of Water to fully equiph the boreholes sank in the wards to ensure residents of Nyandarua have access to clean and safe water.

In a statement sought from Water, Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources Committee Chairperson Hon. Mathu Wainaina, Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Wangari Methu noted that in spite of the huge fund directed to drilling and equipping of boreholes, most homes in the County don’t have access to clean water.
Charagita MCA, Hon. Wairimu Njane and County Member from Magumu, Hon. Salome Gathoni urged the County Government to fulfill the promise it made in 2017 with regard to provision of clean water to Nyandarua residents, noting that women suffer most when this precious commodity is not available.
Majority chief Hon. Wangari Mathu
County Member from Gathanji Hon. Loise Kimondo and her counterpart from Kanjuiri Range Hon. Georgina Chira asked the department of water to ensure that there is equity in distribution of boreholes in wards.
Acting speaker Hon. Zachary Njeru urged the County Executive to consider alternative sources of water besides boreholes.
