Interior Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho has launched an attack on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Leader Raila Odinga and allies amid allegations that the Building Bridge Initiative (BBI) Report is slowly losing its influence amongst Kenyans in the face of the looming 2022 general elections.
PS Kibicho who has been one of the major supporters of the BBI report and the handshake now admits that BBI is going to be pulled down, adding that he will not shut up from saying the truth about the report.
He further asserted that he will keep on campaigning for the BBI report amid ODM moves to give President Uhuru Kenyatta an ultimatum over the same, and their efforts to kick out PS Kibicho from the steering committee.
PS Kibicho poked holes ODM allies like Siaya County Senator James Aggrey Orengo who had asked him to step down and surrender the campaigns to them, but the subject noted that he will keep on educating Kenyans on what would become of them should they pass the report ahead of the 2022 polls.
According to a section of ODM allies, PS Kibicho is alleged to have been engineering for some major changes in the report against their willing with a few civil servants in Jubilee government, an allegation that forced ODM to go public and declare their decision to tame the PS.
“We are being told that we are technocrats and that we should shut up. Never. The constitution is for everyone and the interior ministry has a civic duty to conduct civic education so that our people can understand what the BBI entails to be able to make informed decisions. I will go ahead with civic education without fear. I will not be cowed,” fearless PS Kibicho fired back at ODM leader and allies.
