The ODM camp which is under the patronage of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been dealt a huge blow following a move that has been taken by one of his allies from the vote-rich Mount Kenya region.
This has come a few weeks after the ODM leader Raila Odinga was given a warm welcome by Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga after he toured the region in an urge to popularize his presidential ambitions and interact with his supporters.
According to the statement that he has given this Sunday, governor Mutahi Kahiga has revealed that Raila kept talking about history despite him giving an advice to him on how to speak to Nyeri people. He has also added that he should not try to compete in this tough race because he will fail.
"Even me baada ya mimi kuongea na yeye na kumwambia Nyeri tunaenda hivi alikaa siku mbili na ilikuwa tu anaenda kidogo anarudia historia sasa. So we na vizuri niliona hata rais alisema juzi ati watu wengine wazee wanaeza kimbia zaidi huyo wasijaribu ataanguka because I saw it myself na tulikuwa na yeye siku hiyo mbili nikaona," said governor Mutahi Kahiga.
