Mzee David Kiwaka, father to Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip has been reported dead and confirmation of his death been made by the family.
Kenyans have joined in mourning the sudden loss of the father to the legislator who has been vocal in the Coastal region ahead of next year's general election.
Deputy President William Ruto has led in mourning the deceased father to the Lamu Senator, as a selfless and progressive man who moulded a generation of gifted leaders.
The Second in Command has remembered Mzee Kiwaka as a hardworking, cause-driven and proudly served the police service and the people of Momonyot ward as a councillor.
"We have lost a selfless and progressive man who moulded a generation of gifted leaders. Mzee David Kiwaka, father to Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip, was hardworking, cause-driven and proudly served the police service and the people of Momonyot ward as a councillor with dedication," DP Ruto penned.
"May God grant the family, their loved ones and the people of Laikipia and Lamu counties strength and comfort to bear with the loss. Rest In Peace, Mzee Kiwaka," DP Ruto added.
