Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata is on the receiving end from a section of the county residents, and who are supporting his Gubernatorial bid in the August polls after changing his running mate in the last minute.
Speaking with NTV on Wednesday, the residents claimed that Kang'ata made the decision to drop his female running mate Winnie Mwangi, without consulting or informing them, and they might weigh on their support towards his bid.
"We are shocked to learn that Kang'ata has changed his running mate on the last minute. He has not inform us about the decision, we are not happy because we loved Mama 'in reference to Winnie,' so much. How will we have a leader who says this today and does that tomorrow without informing us."
On Monday, IEBC has failed to clear Kang'ata on claims that his running made, Dr Winnie - a lecturer at the University of Nairobi, did not resign on 9th February 2022, as it was required by the law.
In a statement yesterday when he was cleared by the IEBC, Kang'ata revealed that he had replaced Winnie with a 29-year old Stephen Mburu Munania, who has a Degree in International Diplomacy and had previously worked as an Assistant County Commissioner Cadet in Kenol.
