The supreme court ruling that allowed members of the LGBTQ community to form associations continues to draw condemnation from various kenyans and groups of people.
The Rastafarian society of kenya has become the latest social grouping to condemn the ruling.
Addressing the media in Nairobi on Friday, the society declared that they are not in support of the LGBTQ community terming it as an erosion of African morals.
"The way we are seeing the country going, we are seeing the basic ingredients which is the family as being threatened because a new culture which is being introduced into our continent and into our country",; said Ras Jaden who is the chairman of the society.
The group emphasized that the government should be focusing mainly on the ongoing economic and food situation in the country and not practices that according to them, go against all traditions that govern Africans.
They further said that the basic ingredients of society which is composed of a marriage between a man and a woman is threatened.
Other groups and persons that have condemned the ruling include: Christian churches, muslims, members of Parliament, the opposition chief Raila Odinga, the president and his deputy.
The move by the Rastafarians has elicited mixed reactions from netizens with some wondering why other groups such as atheists have not spoken.
Ndovu: Nani wamebaki sasa ku put in their voice? Sorcerers and witches?
Kims:Where are Atheist Kenya Union....we are waiting for them to come out clean and condone LGBTQ.
