President Uhuru Kenyatta's Relative Visits DP Ruto, Holds Crucial Meeting Ahead of Election

Deputy President William Ruto has today hosted several elders from Mt Kenya, among them President Uhuru Kenyatta's cousin.

DP Ruto hosted the elders led by President Uhuru's cousin, Kiama Kìa Ma Captain (Rtd) Kung'u Muigai.

While details of the elder's presence at DP Ruto's home remain scanty, DP Ruto has revealed that it was all about the August 9 polls.

Taking to social media, DP Ruto noted that they talked about a peaceful election during their meeting.

Also present were several Kenya Kwanza leaders from Mt Kenya, among them Moses Kuria, the Chama Cha Kazi party leader, National Speaker Justin Muturi, DP Ruto's running mate Rigathi Gachagua among others.

"Our commitment to a peaceful election on August 9 is unequivocal. Our elders are an integral component of this agenda. 

"Hosted community elders from Kiambu County led by Kiama Kìa Ma Captain (Rtd) Kung'u Muigai. Leaders Rigathi Gachagua, Justin Muturi, Moses Kuria, Kimani Ichung’wah, James Wamacukuru, Simon King'ara, Njuguna Wanjiku and George Koimburi joined us," DP Ruto noted.

DP Ruto is hosting the elders from Mt Kenya a day after he launched his manifesto as he aims to win the coming general election.
