"You Have Powers To Prosecute My Removal From Office" Cherera Tells JLAC, Ignores Raila's Advice

Raila had advised Juliana Cherera to stay out of the Judicial Legal and Commission hearings, but she has chosen to go nonetheless. As part of her appeal to have herself and three other IEBC Commissioners removed from office, Juliana Cherera has acknowledged that the commission has the authority to hear her petition. The IEBC commissioner Juliana Cherera was the target of the complaint.

In a U-turn, the four IEBC Commissioners who had argued that JLAC lacked authority now said that the case can proceed forward. The efforts of Raila Odinga, who has focused on inciting public protests as a threat to the government, have been severely hampered.

The recently elected president of Kenya, William Ruto, is investigating claims that four commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission attempted to derail his victory in the recent general election. After voting against his candidacy, the four commissioners find themselves in a secure position from which they expect to preside over the upcoming election.

Juliana Cherera, who is in charge of the dissenting IEBC Commissioners, has made it crystal clear that Raila Odinga won the election. It is well knowledge that the chances of them surviving the IEBC are low.
