Accidents on the Kenyan highways have been on the rise in the recent past with the government urging motorists to always be careful to avoid these scenes.

Over 4500 Kenyans have lost their lives on the roads since the start of 2022 as per the data that is available from the National Transport and Safety Authority.
Recklessness as well as non compliance to traffic rules have been the major causes of accidents on the roads in the recent past.
This afternoon, according to the available reliable reports that we have with us from the Eldoret-Webuye Highway at Chimoi, there has been a nasty crash involving a probox and a truck.
The accident is said to have happened moments ago on the busy road with the occupants of the probox reported to be still in the burning vehicle.
The number of the occupants in the probox is unknown as per the reports that we have with us but none was able to make it out of the vehicle alive.

Emergency crew or the traffic police have not yet arrived at the scene of the accident that happened moments ago along the busy Eldoret-Webuye Highway.
The fire is still consuming the two vehicles as per the reports that we have with us from the eye witnesses at the scene of the accident.
The cause of the crash between the two vehicles is also unknown with users of the road being urged to be careful as they approach this section of the road.
