Six Teachers Arrested After Beating Up a Student to Death After Failing to Pass Mock Exams

Six high school teachers have been arrested for allegedly beating up a student and killing him after he failed in the mock examination they had examined him.

Ruvuma Regional Police Commander in Tanzania Mr Joseph Konyo said they were holding six teachers in connection with the death of the 15-year-old student.

However, the police did not name the identity of the arrested police officers because of investigative reasons.

It is being said the form one student did not perform well in his mock exams, which angered his teachers who are after raising the school's mean score.

The teachers clobbered the learner, leaving him with serious injuries on his thighs and back.

He went back home and started complaining of body pain, forcing his parents to rush him to a hospital.

Fortunately, the student died while receiving treatment. Police are yet to carry out a postmortem to determine the cause of his death.
