2022 politics will be very interesting as various leaders have shown interest in vying for different seats after the dissolving of last Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Gubernatorial race will be more stiff as several second term leaders will be hoping to vie and clinch this coveted seat.
Murang’a County Gubernatorial seat race will be very interesting as fierce rivals are set to go head to head in a bid to convince residents of this Mt Kenya region to vote them in. DP Ruto's ally, Irungu Kangata has already been endorsed through the UDA party.
Second term Governor, Wa Iria won't vie for this seat due the requirements by the 2010 constitution. Kigumo Member of Parliament, Jamleck Kamau publicly announced that he will vie for this top seat, Women representative Sabina Chege also stated that she will vie for the Governor of Murang'a plus six other leaders are also ambitious.
According to an open poll conducted by Mizani Kenya, Jamleck Kamau emerged on top in the polls as he garnered more than 50 per cent of the votes.
Irungu Kangata came in second position with 18.9 per cent while the others got the following; Sabina Wanjiru Chege (7.3%), Irungu Nyakera (5.1%), Irungu Wairagu (5.4%), Moses Mwangi (6.5%), Stanley Kamau (1.8%) and Henry Gate (0.1%).
