Mare Atwoli a current news anchor at KTN says that she never thought she would be a news anchor. Well,Mary Atwoli studied her degree at Makerere University in Uganda. Mary was taking a course to do with social work and she never thought she would be a journalist at one point in life. During the KTN relaunch, Mary said that she thought that she would be doing social works and working with refugees in their camp and helping out the less privileged.
Mary narrates that during her second semester in second year at Makerere University, her lecturer approached her and told her that they were looking for someone who was fluent in Kiswahili. She added that her lecturer again allerted her that an editor at Uganda Broadcasting Company was travelling to China for three months and someone was needed to sit in for her. That's how Mary Atwoli found herself at UBC where she worked till she graduated and then embarked to Kenya and joined KTN where she has worked for 10 years and has never left.
