Kenya Police Issues Directives On Easter Holiday Celebrations

A statement has been issued jointly this morning by the national security sector representatives. This comprised of Mr Wilson Njenga, Secretary for Internal Security, Mr Wycliffe Ogallo, Prisons Commissioner General, Mr George Njao, Director General National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and Hillary Mutyambai, Inspector General of Police.

This is regarding the Easter festivities and how the security forces will enforce Covid-19 containment ,measures and security during this time.

The police acknowledges that some people will have to travel to various destinations for Easter, but have urged those within the One Zoned Area of Machakos, Kiambu, Kajiado, Nakuru and Nairobi to stick around. 33 roadblocks have been erected on major roads leading in and out of the zone.

The prisons Commissioner General has also released not less than three thousand (3,000) officers to help the National Police Service in enforcing Covid-19 containment measures and maintaining law and order in the nation.

Citizens are urged to follow all the guidelines and report those breaking the law to the nearest police station.
