The race to win over more support for the Presidental ambitions of Deputy President William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga is still on earlier than expected. Both leaders are trying to woo Kenyans to support them with both camps trying to get a larger share of the five million Mt Kenya votes.
Raila Odinga and William Ruto have their own sets of Mt Kenya leaders who are pushing for their ambitions in the region. Irungu Kangata has always campaigned hard and rallied for William Ruto, but he has changed his tune that Raila might win the 2022 polls ahead of the DP.
Speaking in a rally from Nyeri today, Irungu Kangata sent the stern warning to DP William Ruto about the competition from Raila as he stated:
"Mr DP, Ndirenda gukwira ati ungeraka Raila athii nambere guka Mt Kenya, menya maundu no kuthuka marathuka. Mundu huyu aukire Jubilee na yakua. Thaa ishi maguta ma vetoro nimafadite vei.
(Mr DP, I want to tell you that is you allow Raila to continue to gain popularity in the Mt Kenya region, just know that things will be bad. This man came to our Jubilee party and you can see it's now dead. Now as we speak Kenyans are spending their money on petroleum products and Uhuru is keeping quiet. Take care)."
This is a stern warning as we have recently witnessed Raila Odinga holding successful tours in the Mt Kenya region as well as the Mt Kenya Foundation Meeting which was a huge success.
