Political Analyst Professor Herman Manyora has claimed that President William Ruto is a man who understands what it takes for one to get power, owing to what we went through during the Jubilee second term to defeat the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga during the August 9th polls.
Raila who had the support of the Former President Uhuru Kenyatta lost his fifth stab at the presidency to Ruto after garnering 6.9 million votes against Ruto's 7.1 million votes.
Manyora opines that if Ruto 'waited' for Uhuru to pass the power mantle to him on a silver platter, he would today not be the fifth president, but since he went out on his way to use resources, traverse the country and sell his agenda, he is the boss now.
''Politics is not something you are given just like that. Politics is power, and power is not given, it is grabbed. If Ruto waited to be given, he would be nowhere. Ruto understands power, you put everything you have to get it. Raila is a good politician, but he does not understand power, he does not put in what it requires to get it," said Manyora.
The University of Nairobi lecturer went on to urge Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka to take over the political space if he wants to have a vibrant name in 2027, instead of waiting to see whether Raila would support his bid
