Here's Why Raila Might Join Ruto in 2022

“I can’t rule out working together with Raila ahead of 2022 presidential race” says Ruto. The deputy president was speaking in an interview with one of the local media stations. His remarks left their supporters speculating that the two former pentagon members can work together to form a formidable coalition that can clinch the presidential seat.

Ruto stated that if Raila believes in empowering the hustlers he was welcomed to join him and work together. Ruto confessing that he had no vendetta with the former prime minister. “We only differ in political ideas, nothing personal. We have our plans and if he (Raila) believes in eradicating poverty, we can work together” he stated.

His sentiments fueling the speculations that the two former allies were holding private meetings for a possible coalition. This is after rumors that president Uhuru is considering Musalia Mudavidi as a possible successor sidelining Raila Odinga. Raila and Ruto had worked together in 2007 elections and a possible reunion is on the offing.
