Top Officials Visited The Ongoing Projects Completion At Garissa County.

Today, with public Accounts Committee members of Parliament Hon Ngugi, Oundo Gachobe, Waluke, Officers from the Auditor General and National Treasury were on an inspection tour of the construction and completion of the Judiciary Ultra Modern complex at the Garissa Law courts.

The project which will house courts at various levels was funded by the World Bank in partnership with the Government of Kenya at a contract sum of 351 million shillings.

The Public Accounts Committee was concerned about the delay incompletions, handing over and variations of the project, value for money and access to justice by the residents of Northern Kenya.

The Judiciary Chief Registrar and the contractor have agreed to complete the handing over of the project completion documents, assess any liability, complete the installation of ICT infrastructure and office furniture by end of October.

Access to justice is an essential ingredient of the rule of law. People need to be able to access the courts and legal processes or the law cannot enforce people's rights and responsibilities.
