The former prime minister on Thursday 9th February 2023 declared the beginning of mass action across the country. While addressing members of the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party from The Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation, Raila declared that they will be going to streets to demand for Ruto's resignation.

However, he announced that the first demonstrations will be held on the 20th of March 2023 in Nairobi and urged all Kenyans to turn up for the event.

"On March 20, 2023, we have a date with destiny, and we call on you all to come to Nairobi where we will conduct a major procession," The former prime minister Announced

Reacting to this, the Kericho senator who doubles up as the leader of Majority in the Senate claimed that Raila has not began his mass actions immediately since he is trying to force handshake with Ruto.

He alleged that Raila wants to use the one week to try to threaten Ruto to call him for talks the same way former president Uhuru Kenyatta did through handshake.

"Basically, RAO is telling his supporters to give him one more week to try and threaten WSR into opening the feeding trough for him as Uhuru did." The vocal United Democratic Alliance party Senator posted on his official social media pages.

However, Cheruiyot warned that Raila should not expect any handshake with President Ruto, he stated that Ruto takes no prisoners and can not be threatened by the former prime minister and his team.

He however noted that Raila should now change his tactics as he has always used the same path after every election.

"I have sad news for him, the current one takes no prisoners, suffers no fools gladly and can never buys fear. Change tact please." The Kericho county senator posted on his official social media pages.
