The officials remarked that no member has permission to open any party offices anywhere but must consult with the top party officials to make necessary plans at a meeting held in Nairobi to address issues affecting the party.
This new ODM directive is a setback for Wanjigi, who ran parallel campaigns and opened party offices without the approval of party officials.
The officials in the meeting decided with one voice that if anyone plans to open an office without notification of the ODM then the office shall not be recognized.
“We wish to remind all members that whenever there is need to open any party office, the same must be done in consultation with the national office, failure to which such offices will not be recognized,” they said in a statement.
