President Uhuru Kenyatta has suspended Lady Justice Mary Muthoni Gitumbi.
According to official communication made on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Justice Muthoni was suspended after recommendation by the Judicial Service Commission.
The Head of State has since gone ahead to appoint a tribunal that will recommend her removal from the Judiciary over ill Health.

Mary Gitumbi correctly serves in the High Court lands and Environment division and she is said to have been unwell for sometime but has continued serving.
According to the Judicial Service Commission, the judge is mentally incapacitated and that is why she has been recommended for removal from office.
The Head of State has also declared vacancy in the Office of the Public Service Commission after the death of the Chairperson.
Kirogo passed away on sometimes back while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital, with his cause of death ye to be disclosed.
