"SPEAKER Wetangula directs IG Koome to reinstate security for 22 Azimio MPs; urges them to tone down 'toxic' politics."Capital FM breaking news.
The security for these MPs had been withdrawn by the state after they participated in what the Inspector General of Police had described as illegal protests on Tuesday.
However, the Speaker's ruling has now directed the Inspector General to reinstate their security.
Despite this ruling, the Speaker has also urged the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance Members of Parliament to tone down their politics and avoid engaging in "toxic" behavior.
It remains to be seen how the reinstatement of security for these 22 Azimio MPs will affect the political climate in the country. Nevertheless, the Speaker's call for peaceful politics is a timely reminder of the importance of responsible leadership during these politically charged times.
At the same time, Azimio MPs staged a walk out after Speaker Wetangula rejected their move to replace Sabina Chege - He ruled that for a replacement to occur, they must give the name for someone else to take her place, but Azimio tried to remove her without listing her successor
