Medical engineering is an interdisciplinary field of study that combines medicine and engineering, covering technical areas such as biology, calculus, physiology, nanotechnology, biochemistry and anatomy. As a medical engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design and create new medical equipment and instruments. For example, you may be responsible for engineering or manufacturing artificial limbs, pacemakers, surgical instruments or other medical equipment.

Certificate in Medical Engineering Technology

Duration- 2 years

Entry Requirements: KCSE mean grade of C- in English or Kiswahili, D in Mathematics and D in Physics/Physical science or Chemistry. D in Physics /Physical Sciences or Chemistry. D in any of the following: Chemistry, Biology/Biological Science, Electricity, Metal work, Technical Drawing.

Diploma in:

1.Medical Engineering Technology(pre-service)

Entry Requirements: KCSE Mean grade of C, C in English or Kiswahili and Mathematics and Physics/Physical Science. C- in any of the following: Biology/Biological Sciences,, Chemistry, Electricity, Metal Work, and Technical Drawing.

2.Medical Engineering Technology(Upgrading from Certificate to Diploma)

Entry Requirements: Certificate in Medical Engineering Technology or an equivalent from a recognized institution.

Higher Diploma in:

1.Diagnostic Equipment

2.Therapeautic Equipment


Entry Requirements: Diploma in Medical Engineering Technology or an Equivalent from a recognized institution.
