The teachers service commission is constitutionally mandated to register, hire, promote and exercise disciplinary control over teachers in both primary and secondary schools.
Pursuant to its Mandate, the commission has Advertised for promotion vacancies for qualified teachers according to career progression guidelines.
The sectary teachers service commission Dr Nancy macharia has asked qualified teachers to apply for the vacancies online Latest by January 31.
According to the advert, over 14000 senior teachers in both primary and secondary schools are set to be promoted.
Winners and Losers.
A closer look at the vacancies available reveals that some teachers will be favored more than others.

senior Primary school teachers.
The highest vacancies are allocated to deputy Headteacher II for primary schools which has a Total of 7,720 slots.
They are then followed by primary headteachers who are having a total of 2733 slots for regular primary schools.
Losers
Senior Secondary school teachers
They have a total of approximately 2000 slots to be shared among deputy principals, senior teachers and principals.
Those in job groups C3 teaching in secondary schools were hoping to be promoted to senior master IV are set to wait longer as the commission hasn't given them slots.
Previously in job group L, a number of teachers in C3 have stagnated in the job groups for years because for one to move up their has be vacancies and monetary allocations.
