President Ruto Warned Publicly by political analyst over his latest move on merging Kenya Kwanza parties.
Creating a plan for the merger is one of Cleophas Malala's first obligations as the newly appointed secretary general of the United Democratic Alliance party.
The ambitious goal to put up a sizable political machine in advance of the elections in 2027 is reportedly raising concerns among certain partners even before the notion has had time to cool.
Erick Komolo, a political analyst and attorney, thinks the big wigs' concern over losing power is what's causing the anxieties.
"It hinders grassroots political competitiveness and weakens national bargaining strength. Before it's too late, I believe Mudavadi, Wetang'ula, Mutua, and Kingi should vehemently resist this proposal because it undermines their democratic rights, their sense of self, and their ability to bargain.
Malala claims that they have given themselves five years to achieve the one-party dream, but in Kenya Kwanza, opposition has already started to manifest itself.
"We must establish a solitary, potent political force that will be remembered in history in order to unite the country. The African National Congress of South Africa is what we aspire to be like.
Every election cycle brings about new parties since we are unable to build parties specifically for elections. Future generations will need one.
