Teachers are worried concerning the introduction of the Teachers professional development program (TPD) and they have shifted fingers on the teacher's service commission for taking such steps that will deplete the pockets of teachers. However, teachers from Nakuru county have vowed that they will not go back to class and the tsc should focus on those who are currently on campus and incorporate their learning with such a profession. They have declared that this option will lead to a family breakup and they have no money to sponsor themselves for several months they will be doing the campus training.
Furthermore, the teachers from Kilifi and Trans Nzoia have revealed that TPD should not be forced to teachers simply because they are professional, qualified and certified teachers. Furaha Lusweti who is the general secretary of KUPPET of Trans Nzoia has claimed that some of the teachers have less than one year to go for retirement and it will be useless to spend money on learning.
