Chelsea is looking forward to the January transfer window in order to strengthen the squad's weak points. While the Premier League giants will be looking to bring in a couple of new players, it appears they will also be dealing with a couple of departures.
Two Chelsea players, according to reports, will 'definitely' leave the club when the transfer window reopens in the winter. Saul Niguez and Ziyech are the two players in question.
According to reports, Niguez is the first name on the exit list. The Spanish joined the blues from Athelitic Madrid in the summer of 2022 for loan but he has been struggled to find opportunities at Old Trafford.
In recent weeks, the midfielder has been a source of frustration at the club. This season, he saw little action with the team, making only four appearances across all competitions.
Hakim Ziyech is expected to follow Niguez in departing Chelsea during the winter.
Chelsea have failed to live up to expectations despite signing a couple of superstars, including Romelu Lukaku, in the summer. The blues have been badly exposed in recent games and will need to respond by strengthening a few positions during the January transfer window.
One obvious area where they need to improve is the defensive midfield, which they failed to address in the summer and has now cost them a lot of money.
