[OPINION]: 3 Reasons Why DP Ruto Will Lose Presidency To Raila Odinga 2022

Ruto will never be president of Kenya, and if he has to – he must wait until 2032 to be considered as a serious candidate.

Central organisation for trade union (COTU) boss, Francis Atwoli, and Jubilee party chairman, David Murathe have numerously declared that DP Ruto would fail terribly in 2022. In this article, we shall look for three reasons why Ruto will lose the presidency.

1. Ruto’s political strategy

There is no doubt that Ruto is one of the smart presidential aspirants – however, his strategies are failing in all possible variations – soon you will not see the same crowd sitting to listen to him. The presidency needs more mature and complex plans not running every corner like gubernatorial aspirants.

DP Ruto does not bolster any stronghold – the rift valley region which is his potential strong back up will finally split – a section will follow Gideon Moi, senator Baringo county. Ruto needs a mature plan, a complete strategy for winning the presidency.

2. Emergence of former prime minister Raila Odinga.

Raila Odinga contesting for the presidency next year is bad news to Ruto. Raila is a political tsunami, “I fear this man, his political game is unexplainable – he can completely turn things unexpected way,” Herman Manyora explained recently.

Ruto will face a challenge that will go down to history with the emergence of Raila Odinga as an aspirant. Raila has survived many political phases – he knows what it requires to win elections.

3. Ruto’s inner circle and popularity is cheating him

The DP Ruto inner circle is a complete joke – you cannot win the presidency with lesser politicians. The likes of Rigathi Gachangua, Irungu Kang’ata, Isaac Mwaura and the rest cannot deliver numbers to Ruto.

In addition, Ruto’s popularity is cheating him, the crowd he gathers in his rallies cannot justify his power. Herman Manyora explained that before 2022, there shall emerge narratives that will reset Ruto’s popularity. The crowd will follow what their local leaders will tell them – this will be the final fall for Ruto.

Going by statistics, Ruto will slip presidency to Raila Odinga in 2022. He will need to restructure himself and work on the 2032 elections project.
