Chelsea Manager Thomas Tuchel Makes Damning Admission About Man City Ahead of Their Saturday Clash

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has claimed that League leaders Manchester City are the "benchmark" ahead of a clash between the two sides on Saturday. The German tactician also heaped praises at City for their incredible handling of injuries and COVID-19 this season, adding that that is the difference between the two clubs.

"It could be luck, or maybe they just do what they do better. They have very few injuries from key players, which means less players out and if they are, less weeks missed," he said as BBC Sports reports.

"They did not suffer from the coronavirus disease as we did over several weeks so this is definitely a huge difference. We had some unnecessary draws in the season, and if you have a full squad, you create a certain atmosphere that pushes everybody to the edge.

" They are the benchmark, and the best team in England at the moment. This is something we have to realistically admit," he added.

The Stamford Bridge outfits go into the Saturday game 10 points behind Manchester City, who have also had their fair share of COVID troubles. Manager Pep Guardiola admitted they had a few cases, with several players missing in a number of games but the situation was getting better by the day.
