The teachers for along period of time have been at loggerheads with the employer over salary issues.The former Knut SG Wilson Sossion used to give the Government some sleepless nights in the teachers' quests for better pay.The 2015 salary case that ended up in the Supreme Court is still fresh in the teachers' minds.
The teachers will have to wait longer than expected for them to get a new CBA.This is after SRC Chairperson Lyn Mengich dashed their hopes in the July's much anticipated CBA.She cited the hard economic times brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.Despite this setback,the teachers never gave up.They met the employer where they struck a deal in the new CBA that has angered the teachers.
In the CBA,TSC has now barred all the head teachers from being union members.Infact,they were all never deducted the urgency fees.The move to bar these teachers from unions has now angered the teachers who are Knut members.A section of them now threaten to take some legal actions against this move.Are the teachers headed to court to solve this CBA aftermath as reported by Teachers Updates?.
