In our country, there are thousands of trained teachers. Furthermore, some are old teachers who are waiting for less than one year to go for retirement. Furthermore, there are many other teachers who are not able to pay ksh6,000 for training and renewing of professional certificates in the country because of Covid-19 epidemic.
According to the source, new details have emerge about TSC new program that requires every teacher to renew his or her certificate for every one year. KNUT National executive member Malel Lang'ata have broke the silence and revealed that the program is unconstitutional. Furthermore, he has revealed that the government should pay for training or to be optional instead of forcing every teacher. I quote his statement from the source," This is a process which should be made optional,it is wrong to force teachers to go back to school yet they are the one paying for it..... Focus should be on the young and newly recruited ones" Malel Lang'ata revealed this statement.
This happens after TSC revealed that every public school teacher should go for training and pay the required amount.
