Lopha sacco bus got involved in a road accident at ruiru along thika road, Nairobi County.
Thika Road traffic police boss Joseph Wafula said the accident occurred at around 5:30pm in the evening.
According to the police boss, the Lopha Sacco bus was heading towards the Nairobi town direction from Thika town when it collided head-on with a lorry as it attempted to overtake two cars.
Two passengers in the bus; a man and a lady sustained serious injuries.
The driver of the lorry reportedly fled the scene after the accident.
The accident had paralyzed transport along the busy highway leading to a major jam before police moved in to tow away the wrecks.
A witness who spoke to the press said the lorry heading towards Githurai lost control and knocked down a Lopha sacco bus heading towards Nairobi.
They also said the lorry was in high speed before the accident happened.
The injured victims were rushed to Ruaraka Uhai Neema hospital for emergency treatment.
